The Islamic Center of Tennessee (ICT) is located in Antioch, TN in Southeast Nashville and has been in operation for nearly 7 years. The Center sits on 11 acres of paved land and has 54,000 sq. ft. of interior space. The ICT currently houses two prayer halls, a 250-seat theatre, a multipurpose room, a cafeteria and office space. The center has also a fully equipped gym and provides daily and weekly Quran and Islamic studies to more than 250 students. Space is being renovated in phases to accommodate the growing needs of the community. The ICT brings together a diverse community of Muslims who have roots in countries worldwide. It provides daily and weekly prayers, as well as programs and services to strengthen the Islamic foundation of the community. Our masjid is a non-denominational Sunni masjid, strictly follows the Qur’an and Sunnah and we welcome all Muslims who ascribe to the Islamic faith to be a part of our community.

The Center is entering an exciting phase of growth and development and seeks qualified and committed candidates to fill key positions in the organization.



The Operational Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the ICT; establishes operating procedures (in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and policies set by the Board); supervises the hiring and evaluation of all staff; and manages the organization's finances and resources. The Operational Manager works in partnership with the staff, the Imam and ICT Board of Directors to fulfill the ICT’s vision, goals and objectives. The Operational Manager must have an impeccable background, knowledge of Islamic teachings, program development and management experience. He/she should have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing and some knowledge of financial management. The position calls for effective fund-raising skills and excellent communication abilities. Given the diverse Muslim community served by the Center, he/she should have experience dealing with diverse groups of people. The candidate must be dynamic and personable with a strong familiarity with the American Muslim Community. The Operational Manager will provide direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Center's vision, strategy, and long-range goals. The Operational Manager will report to the Board of Directors. The primary place of business shall be at the ICT.


  • Provide leadership and management to ensure that the Council is successfully pursuing its vision, professionally run, self-sufficient and financially secure
  • Support the Board and staff in the strategic planning process and develop an action plan on an annual basis
  • Direct the implementation and evaluation of adopted programs and plans
  • Manage human and financial resources Develop and implement written policies and procedures
  • Recruit, lead, supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers Coordinate and monitor event timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Visit venue to plan layout of seating and decorations.
  • Keep inventory of microphones, projectors, computers, and other display materials ready for the event.
  • Manage website, social networks, messages to public, promotional materials
  • Collects donations, write receipts, do bookkeeping, follow up on the donors
  • Secretarial services for Center, opens the facility and Answer phones
  • Represent the ICT to the larger community Manage Center activities on a day-to-day basis
  • Develop quarterly action plan Oversee equipment, maintenance and security needs
  • Financial planning and oversight Coordinate with Imam and other staff to plan Eid
  • Develop relationships with local Islamic organizations and other local non-profit organizations
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports to Board Attend monthly board meetings
  • Other duties as assigned 


  • Minimum of one year of management experience working in a leadership role
  • Familiar with nonprofit community and the American Muslim community
  • Demonstrated leadership and management ability, including a working knowledge of fiscal management, including budgeting
  • Demonstrated expertise in building coalitions and relationships with a diverse set of organizations and institutions, both within the Muslim community and more broadly
  • Demonstrated program development experience A teamwork orientation, patience and tolerance to others, and strong ability to select, manage, and motivate staff
  • Hands-on experience in fundraising and business development 
    Provide a strong voice in addressing social and Muslim-community related issues in media
  • Demonstrated ability in public speaking, written and oral communications, and interpersonal relations
  • Relevant graduate degree or equivalent experience required. 


Salary is commensurate based on experience.
